Hi Paul,
Here are some corn recipe links that will give you
plenty of ideas:
That will get you started. With freshly picked
corn (aka maize), just boiling for a few minutes is the simplest thing
to do. Then just slather it with butter (never margarine) and
whatever else you like. I use kosher salt or sea salt, coarse
black pepper, and sometimes a sprinkle of oregano ... all of that is
just a matter of taste.
We can get corn and tomatoes year round here but the imports from
Florida and Mexico are just not worth the out-of-season prices asked
for them. The local farm in Bethany has the best I have ever
had. Connecticut is a lot colder than Ireland, so I think you
could grow whatever we do here ... for longer than we
do.
I noted your remark about "how quickly they grow up." That is
very true.
My NH friend Mary Anne whom you've known since 1972 on
Chapel Street. recently had her 68th birthday. Now her daughter
Meghan is in her mid-thirties.
Things like that just stagger me.
I do remember Tim's birth in 1978. I was there in Dublin
when it happened.
Which is Katie's birth year?
Is she enjoyng Tonoto?
